I've always had a deep connection to words, a love that has been with me since I was young. But, like many of us, I found that this passion was often pushed aside by the demands of a busy everyday life.
It wasn't until recently, when I finally found the time to visit my family home, that I was reminded of this love. I looked through my childhood memories basket and found it filled with papers, letters, and diaries—things that inspired me and emotions written down by my seven-year-old self. Holding those pieces of my past, I realized that growing up, writing was a piece of myself that I hadn't lost yet.
Every night, after the hustle and bustle of the day had quieted down, I would sit down, collect my thoughts, and write them down. In those few hours, I found myself again. Those moments of reflection and creativity were when I truly felt at peace and connected to my inner self.
Today, I am publishing my debut book, "Whispers from the Wardrobe." This book is more than just a collection of my thoughts and stories; it is a homemade project, a true labor of love. Each page is a joint effort of my dearest friends, who knew exactly how to help me translate my thoughts into words and graphics and how to create each character I wrote.
And as I wrote these characters, they took on a life of their own, each with a distinct face in my mind.
Each chapter was a separate journey, a different path of a different person who became a friend of mine. I found myself sharing the emotions of these characters, imagining them sitting down at my dinner table, telling their stories and waiting for me to take out my pen and make their stories more real. It was through these interactions that I was able to bring depth to their narratives, making them feel like real people with real experiences.
Writing this book has been an incredible journey of self-discovery and connection and ı hope that as you read "Whispers from the Wardrobe," you will find pieces of yourself in the characters and stories, and feel a sense of connection and understanding.
As you dive into "Whispers from the Wardrobe," I encourage you to embrace the power of words. For readers, let this book inspire you to explore more stories and find comfort in the written word. For fellow writers, may this journey remind you of the importance of sharing your voice, no matter how busy life gets. And for those who have lost their passion for words, I urge you to spare the time to reconnect with your love for reading and writing. In a world filled with noise, there is always a quiet space within you where your thoughts and stories can thrive. Get back on track, and let your words shine.
